Course content

This three-year LLB Honours degree covers all of the core modules required in  legal education.

Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with Specialisms

In addition to the LLB Law degree we provide the opportunity for you to graduate with a degree in a specialized area of Law.

All students entering our LLB Law route can apply to one of the five specialisms below or continue with their general LLB (Hons) Law degree. You can make this choice at the end of your 2nd year.

If you enter a specialism you will need to study at least 4 15-credit modules related to this pathway in your final year.

The additional specialisms and respective degree titles are:

  • LLB Law with Commercial Law

  • LLB Law with International Law

  • LLB Law with Human Rights

  • LLB Law with Professional Practice

  • LLB Law with Technology

    Our Bachelor of Laws degree is perfect for those wanting to develop their legal knowledge and skills to pursue a career in law. Our LLB will equip you with the tools and understanding to comprehend, critically evaluate and apply the regulations and frameworks that society sets up to ensure justice and stability. It provides the core foundation of legal knowledge and meets the requirements of the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board for a career as a solicitor or barrister in the UK. You’ll also develop many transferable skills that will support using your legal knowledge in a variety of career paths including insurance, banking, local government and business.

    When you study our LLB Law degree via distance learning with ARU, you’ll have the opportunity to advance your career around your other commitments and apply your learnings directly to your place of work.

LLB Law Online

Our online law degree, known as an LLB or Bachelor of Laws, is equivalent to a BA or BSc. This degree will prepare you in part for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE1) or Bar Practice Course (to qualify as a barrister).

If you have set your sights on other careers, such as politics, business or journalism, the transferable skills you will learn on your law degree will provide an excellent launch pad for these ambitions and more.
